Edwin is from El Paso, Texas, which is a bigger city with a small-town feel. After attending Texas and Mexico schools throughout his children, Edwin attended a college-prep high school that had less than 115 students in his graduating class. After attending a small high school, with very specific demographics, Edwin attended a smaller university for his undergraduate degree—University of Texas El Paso (UTEP). After three years at UTEP, Edwin was accepted to U-M’s law school. Edwin discusses the cultural differences he experienced upon attending Michigan, as well as his experience with the frivolous regime of lawyers after growing up in a low-income lifestyle.
