blogs and ramblings and words

When I was a senior in high school, I was stricken with a terrible case of panic as my world was changning and transforming around me. With a month left of high school, I found that I should be documenting what was about to be the most insane transition of my life.

I was going from little, old Kent City to the big city that is Ann Arbor. I was going conservative to liberal, dirt roads to bus stops and traffic jams. Everything in my life was about to change, so that's when Hurricane Kate came to be.

In my last month of high school, I began a simple blog about my crazy life. It's unbelievably cheesy and the tagline is awful, but it's the best outlet for my thoughts and platform for criticism that I've ever been offered.

"Hurricane Kate: Not literally a hurricane, just a girl with a messy existence" is an open space for my thoughts, rants, ramblings, and news.

I've been lucky enough to continue blogging during college, on my own time and within some of my classes. Sweetland's Minor in Writing Gateway course uses wordpress as an open forum for discussion, critiques, and conversation about writing. It was an awesome opportunity to share my thoughts and ideas with a group of others who are as interested and invested in writing as I am.

Here you can find the link to my personal blog, Hurricane Kate, and here is the link to my posts during the Gateway Course in the Sweetland Minor in Writing.
